Berbera (Berberatimes.com) An event to launch the biggest gas ship in Somaliland was held in Berbera, the capital of the Sahel region.
This ship, which is the largest that docked at the port of Berbera, was loaded by the SOMGAS Company the ceremony was attended by businessmen, scholars, dignitaries and guests of honor.
The management of Telesom and Sam-gas, who spoke at the event, spoke about the importance of the ship in saving the environment and preventing environmental degradation.
The Chairman of Berbera City Council, the mayor of that city Abdisharkur Mohamud Hassan (Cidin) and the governor of Sahil Ali Abdi Abdilahi (Ali case), and they have been talking about the importance of the project for the care and protection of the area.
An official from the Ministry of Trade and Tourism of Somaliland gave details about the significance of the project that will be beneficial to the country; and noted that the government welcomes the project.
Somaliland’s Environment and Climate Change Minister Shukri Bandare spoke about how gas can save the climate and people’s environment by calling on the public to use gas and stop burning plants.
In conclusion, the Minister of Industry and Investment Development, Abdirisaq Ibrahim Mohamed, praised the managers of the Telesom Company for their good role in the development projects of Somaliland.
The minister asked the officials of the company that the price of the gas they will sell to the community should be reasonable and cheap, while otherwise, the minister urged the authorities of the oil and gas storage tanks to take special responsibility in their protection and to prevent fires those tanks.
